Natural Caramel Sauce
Makes: 1 jar (6 fl oz.)
Natural Carmel Sauce is always something I have on hand! It holds well and compliments all those amazing fruit dishes that might need just a little extra zing!
INGREDIENTS
¼ cup plus 2 tbsp. powdered erythritol
¼ cup water
2 tbsp. maple syrup
¼ cup butter
⅓ cup heavy cream
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine the erythritol, water and maple syrup in a medium saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Add the butter and whisk for about 10 minutes until the mixture begins to brown. Turn off the heat and add in the cream. Turn the heat to medium-high and whisk for 2 minutes. Once the sauce begins to thicken and reaches the consistency of caramel sauce, turn off the heat completely. Serve immediately, or transfer to a jar and store for up to 1 week
