Mediterranean Breakfast Pizza

Let me tell you, breaking your fast with a pizza is a guaranteed mood booster—and thanks to the antioxidants in the olives and tomatoes, this Mediterranean Breakfast Pizza fights a myriad of diseases! This grab-and-go breakfast is piled high with savory ham, tangy olives, and zesty herbs, in true Mediterranean fashion.
INGREDIENTS
1 (8-oz.) can tomato sauce
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
1 (12-inch) prebaked whole wheat thin pizza crust
6 slices low-fat ham
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
½ green bell pepper, sliced
¼ cup pitted and halved Kalamata olives
¼ cup fresh basil
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Combine the tomato sauce and oregano in a small bowl, then spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza crust.
3. Arrange the ham slices on the pizza crust and top with the mozzarella, bell peppers, olives, and basil.
4. Place the pizza onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, until the edges of the crust are lightly browned and the cheese has melted.
5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the pan for 5–10 minutes.
6. Once cooled, cut the pizza into 6 slices and serve. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
