Garlic Beef Salpicao
MAKES 2 SERVINGS
This savory dish packs a flavorful punch! Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, and chili peppers costar with garlic in this anything-but-typical steak. Be sure to cook the garlic in warm, not hot, butter to maximize its aroma and infuse the butter with garlicky goodness.
INGREDIENTS
1 pound boneless ribeye steak, cut into thin strips
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon chili pepper
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, diced
1 tablespoon sour cream
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the steak strips in a medium mixing bowl and add the Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, salt, and chili powder and massage the mixture into the steak, then set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
2. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Add the marinated steak and cook for 2 minutes per side, or until it begins to brown.
4. Stir in the sour cream and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to incorporate all the flavors. Remove from the heat and allow to cool for 3 minutes.
5. Transfer to a platter and serve.
