Breakfast Fig Smoothie

This rich and creamy fig smoothie is a great way to start your day, particularly if you need something quick and easy. This smoothie not only tastes delicious but will also assist with balancing energy levels, as it is full of both complex carbohydrates and good-quality healthy fats. Figs are also known as the fruit of the gods and are full of fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, all of which are going to help support your overall health and well-being.

 

INGREDIENTS

4 large fresh figs, cut into quarters
2 small/medium frozen bananas, sliced
¼ cup natural Greek yogurt
3 tbsp. oats
3 tbsp. almonds
2 tbsp. honey
1 tbsp. chia seeds
1 cup water
1 cup ice

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Combine all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and process on high for 1 minute or until smooth. Add more liquid if necessary to adjust thickness, and blend again.
2. Divide between two tall glasses and serve immediately.
